How Translations Work
All new translations are currently generated by neural machine translation and are fully automated.
Because of that, some translations may be awkward, inaccurate, or missing context.
Server error codes are currently not translated. This also affects some API success messages, lock history entries, and received notifications.
Right now it is not sustainable time-wise to migrate all of these to machine-readable error codes and then map them to translated keys, both in terms of development effort and testing.
Help Improve Translations
If you find a bad translation and want to help:
- Contact [email protected] or use Support chat.
- Ask for access to the Tolgee translation management site.
I also take suggestions for new languages to add. Adding a new language usually takes around 5 to 10 minutes and covers roughly 8,000 translation keys / translated words.
- Search for the incorrect translation in Tolgee.
- Update the translated text.
- Press
Ctrl + Eto mark it as reviewed.
Translation Sync
Website translations are updated and synced on every new build for the mobile app.
