Card Game
The Card Game adds an element of chance to your lock session. Instead of just waiting for a timer to run out, you draw cards — some help you, some make things harder.
How It Works
A deck of cards is created when the lock starts. You draw cards one at a time. Each card has a different effect. The goal is to collect all the Green Cards in the deck to trigger a release.
- The deck must have at least 1 Green Card and at least 2 cards total
- You can configure 1 to 5 Green Cards per deck — you must collect all of them to unlock
- After drawing certain cards, there is a cooldown before your next draw
- Card counts can be fixed (exact numbers) or randomized within a range
Card Types
| Card | Effect |
|---|---|
| Green | Collect all of them to trigger the unlock decision. Progress is preserved through resets. |
| Red | You must wait through a cooldown before drawing again. Removed from the deck after drawn. |
| Shock | Same as Red — triggers a cooldown and is removed from the deck. Also triggers a physical shock on your connected device. |
| Sticky | Triggers a cooldown like a Red Card, but is not removed from the deck — it goes back in and can be drawn again. |
| Freeze | Freezes the lock timer for a configured duration. The countdown stops until it unfreezes. |
| Double Up | Doubles all remaining non-Green cards in the deck. Does not double Green Cards. |
| Reset | Resets the deck to its original card counts. Your collected Green Card progress is preserved. |
| Yellow | 50% chance to add Red Cards, 50% chance to remove Red Cards. The amount is randomized. |
| +1 / +2 / +3 Red | Adds 1, 2, or 3 Red Cards to the deck. The card itself is consumed. |
Green Card Release
When you have collected all required Green Cards, the game pauses and a decision modal opens. You can:
- Unlock now — ends the session and reveals the lock combination
- Reset card game — restores the original card counts and keeps playing
- Ask keyholder to decide — your keyholder chooses unlock or reset on your behalf
If you're on a self-lock, the "ask keyholder" option is not available.
If you have an AI/Bot keyholder enabled, you can also ask it to decide for you. Apply caution — the bot may choose to reset the game instead of unlocking you.
If no decision is made before the lock timer expires, you are unlocked automatically.
Surprise Mode
Surprise is a keyholder feature that can add extra time when a Green Card is drawn — even after the wearer thinks they're about to get out.
How Surprise Works
When the wearer collects all Green Cards and the keyholder is asked to decide, the keyholder can apply a Surprise instead of unlocking. This converts the lock into a time-based lock for up to 7 additional days.
Surprise can be configured in two modes:
- Fixed — a specific, pre-set amount of time is added
- Random — a random amount of time up to the configured maximum is added
After Surprise is applied, the card game is disabled and the lock becomes a standard timer.
When Surprise Can Be Used
The keyholder can pre-configure Surprise in the lock settings, or set it up on the spot at the Green Card decision. If Surprise was disabled at setup, the keyholder can still choose to enable it at decision time.
Keyholder Controls
Keyholders can add or remove cards from an active game at any time using the Card Manager. This lets them adjust difficulty during the session.
The keyholder can also enable Shock on Red — this makes every Red Card draw trigger a physical shock on the wearer's connected device, not just Shock Cards.
Info Hidden Mode
When enabled by the keyholder, all cards show face-down and the total number of remaining cards is hidden. The wearer cannot see what card they are about to draw.
